My Candle Journey

What started as a simple hobby has grown into something I never imagined.

Back in 2018, I could see a big life change on the horizon. My youngest of my three boys would be heading off to college in about a year and a half, and I knew that after years of busy days filled with school drop-offs, sporting events, and practices, life was about to slow down in a big way.

I didn’t want to wait until that moment came to figure out what was next—I wanted to be prepared for it. So I decided to find something for myself, something creative and fulfilling that I could grow into. That’s when I discovered candle making.

What started as a hobby quickly became something I truly loved. There was something special about creating with my hands, experimenting with scents, and bringing each candle to life.

By 2019, I took the next step and began sharing my candles with others. I started selling at local farmers markets and was fortunate enough to have my products placed in two stores. Seeing people connect with my candles and take them home was an incredible feeling—and it motivated me to keep going.

In 2020, my youngest officially left for college, and I stepped fully into that empty nester season—but by then, I had already built something meaningful to pour my time and energy into.

Then in 2021, I made one of the biggest decisions of my life: I left my job of 16 years to pursue candle making full-time. It was a leap of faith, but one I knew I had to take.

Today, my business has grown beyond what I once imagined. You can find me at farmers markets, in stores, and at large events and festivals. What started as preparing for a new chapter in life has turned into a thriving business and a true passion.

This journey has taught me that sometimes, the best thing you can do is start before you feel ready. What begins as a small step can lead to something truly life-changing.
